EL KONTROL Honored with German Business Award 2025

The company was awarded by the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce AHK Bulgarien (German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce) in the category "Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Focused on Innovation." With this award, AHK Bulgarien recognizes companies that, through their innovativeness, commitment, and sustainable approach, contribute to the development of German-Bulgarian economic relations.

The award was presented at a special ceremony, with a certificate from Mr. Horst Stueber – President of AHK Bulgarien, and Ms. Sonya Miklay – Chief Executive Officer.

"This recognition is a great honor for EL KONTROL and a strong motivation for our entire team to continue developing and implementing innovative, sustainable solutions with a real impact," shared Eng. Stanimir Hristov.

The project that impressed the awards committee is related to the modernization of the street lighting in the city of Stara Zagora. It was commissioned by the Stara Zagora Municipality under the "Support for Energy-Efficient Street Lighting Systems" procedure, approved by the Ministry of Energy within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The project involved the implementation of an intelligent monitoring and management system for the city's street lighting installations, developed by EL KONTROL's engineering team. The system provides automated monitoring and control of the installations, detection of faulty luminaires, and unauthorized connections of external consumers. As part of the same project, EL KONTROL replaced nearly 5,000 luminaires in the extensive city center and built a photovoltaic power plant on the roof of the Stara Zagora Bus Station.

The combined effect after the project's completion is over 30% savings in electricity consumption.

The project is an example of a successful technological transformation leading to the sustainable improvement of the urban environment, ecological balance, and quality of life in Stara Zagora. The company continues to work on similar projects for other municipalities.
