Project description

Project for construction of 400 kV Power Distribution Line from Maritsa East 3 TPP to substation Alibeykjoy (Turkey) concerns erection of a second 400 kV high-voltage line to substation Alibieykjoy - Turkey. In this regard reconstruction and enlargement of the 400 kV Switchyard in Maritsa East 3 TPP has become necessary. Construction of a new 400 kV Switchgear is the first of its kind for the last 15 years, and therefore, the Project has a national significance for the Bulgarian Energy System. With the experience gained and the background of completed Projects, in 2001 EL KONTROL won the public procurement competition, and was selected as the main contractor of the Project. This is the most significant order executed by EL KONTROL by that time. Project includes installation of last generation power equipment produced by leading manufacturers which guarantees reliability and efficiency in the system performance. Project includes installation of circuit breakers and 400 kV support insulators produced by SIEMENS - Germany, power and measuring transformers and 400 kV disconnectors produced by АВВ - Germany, current and measuring transformers produced by Hefley Trench - France.

Existing 400 kV Switchyard

  • Dismantle of existing 400 kV equipment: measurement transformers, knife disconnectors, circuit breakers, surge arresters and support insulators;
  • Dismantle and substitution of existing 220/400/31,5 kV autotransformers; tests and commissioning;
  • Installation and commissioning of new 400 kV power equipment: measuring transformers, knife disconnectors, circuit breakers, surge arresters and support insulators;
  • Substitution of control cables, relay panels and control panels;
  • Construction of Guard and Local Lightning installations;
  • Control measurements and tests of electrical equipment and relay protection.

  • Erection and commissioning of new 400 kV equipment: measuring transformers, knife disconnectors, circuit breakers, surge arresters and support insulators;
