In December 2013 EL KONTROL commissioned Substations Mayak 110 kV and Kavarna 110/20 kV, located in northwest Bulgaria

EL KONTROL commissioned Substations Mayak 110 kV and Kavarna 110/20 kV, located in northwest Bulgaria. 

The two Substations are part of a common Project of NEK, concerning erection of a new junction 110 kV Substation Mayak, and also reconstruction and enlargement of 110/10 kV Substation Kanvarna.

110 kV Substation Mayak is a junction Substation destined to ensure a steady power supply able to sustain the increased loading of the northern Black-Sea area power distribution network during summer tourist season.
The Substation was erected from zero-level entirely by EL KONTROL.

 

Executed construction activities include erection of control building, concrete foundations, cable trenches, roads, fence, vertical planning.Electrical scope includes erection of a 110 kV Switchyard, installation of RTU system and commissioning of the Substation.

110/20 kV Substation Kavarna – the project includes enlargement of 110 kV Switchyard with new power transformers, reconstruction of the Switchyard by substitution of all existing equipment, construction of new roads, fence, vertical planning.

Scope of the project also includes installation of a video-surveillance system and RTU system, installation of new AC/DC panels and relay/control panels.
A new building for 20 kV Indoor Switchgear was erected and a two-sectional 20 kV Switchgear was installed within the building.
