An EPC project including:
- Elaboration of design for the integration of a frequency regulator at industrial compressor.
- Execution of the activities set in the design – delivery, installation, and commissioning of the frequency regulator.
The task is to integrate frequency regulator with automatic synchronous bypass. No process interruption is allowed in the industrial plant.
The solution has been developed by our Industrial Electronics Service-Station engineers in partnership with ABB Motion. A 6kV ACS2000 frequency regulator manufactured by ABB is integrated with SBU synchronous bypass control. It provides stepless switching of a 1500kW motor between two operating modes by synchronizing the operation of the frequency regulator and the main power supply. In this way, the drive ensures process continuity even in the event of a failure in the frequency regulator, or when it is taken out for maintenance.
The activities set in the project were executed, commissioning tests were conducted and the system was put under operation.
